Season Finale Sees Excellent Racing In Tough Conditions

dmax-2016-r10-sliderDaytona Milton Keynes hosted the final round of the TW Steel DMAX 2016 Championships on Sunday – and the eighty-nine drivers who braved the aftermath of Storm Angus enjoyed excellent close racing on the damp International Circuit in MK.

The Heavy Enduro Drivers were first out of the Pits and they faced the toughest conditions with spitting rain throughout their race – Tom Pughe was victorious ahead of Chris Munro and Tomek Zaustowicz – Chris Carter was absent having already secured the Championship at the previous round.

The Light Enduro Race win went to Max O’Shaughnessy ahead of Ben Leslie and Joshua Craft. Tom Golding was also absent having secured the championship but Cameron Noble did enough to finish Third in the Championship.

The Inter Enduro Race Podium matched the end of year Championship positions. Bobby Trundley won the Inter Enduro Race and the 2016 Championship. Luke Cousins was second on the day and in the 2016 Series with Oli Peacock finishing third in both R10 and the Championship.

In the afternoon, the drivers faced cold, damp conditions in the Heats Championship. Tom Pughe beat Chris Carter to the Heavy Race win but Carter managed to win the Heats Championship by just 6 points from Tomek Zaustowicz. Again Golding was already secure as Lights Heats Champion whilst Cameron Noble confirmed himself as runner up ahead of Jake Butler – as Kameron Khan won the Lights Final from Max O’Shaughnessy and Ben Leslie.

In the Inters Class, Bobby Trundley won the round but Hollywood held on for fourth place and confirmed his Championship win by just 8 points from the year’s racing. Trundley finished the year as runner up ahead of Chris Alcock – whilst Cousins and Coppin completed the R10 podium.

Full Race reports and Championship Standings will be on the 2016 Results Pages later today and the Round 10 Highlights Videos will be online within two weeks.
