Round 2 – 14th March.
Fresh from his success in the morning Enduro, Chris Hackworth was in dominant mood winning 2 out of 3 heats and planting himself on pole position for the final. Callum Souter kept himself out of trouble in the first 2 heats and won the 3rd to get onto the front row alongside Chris. Behind these two it was fiercely competitive with Matthew Edmonson-Jones, who looked a little out of sorts, Ben Leslie, Dwayne Marsden, Jonathan Elliot and Paul Cox all in with a shout.
At the start of the 10 lap final, Chris took the advantage and slowly built up a lead that he held to the flag. Behind him though, Callum Souter and Ben Leslie had a great battle for the runner up position with Ben just pipping Callum at the flag by 8/10ths. Matthew couldn’t quite live with the top 3 and finished 4th and behind him, Manchester regulars Dwayne and Jonathan were separated by less than half a second.

Round 3 - P.F. International Circuit - 18th April
A grid of 20 lightweight drivers was all eagerly looking forward to driving the DMAX karts around the fantastic PFI circuit. Sadly, due to the ongoing volcanic ash situation, 2 regular drivers were stuck abroad and couldn't make it back in time. What they missed was some fantastic weather, a quality track and some great racing. Local driver and reigning champion Chris Hackworth was the man to beat with Matt Brooks, Chris Aukett, Callum Souter, Anson Williams and Marc Lee all showing well throughout the heats.
The super smooth track with vicious kerbs took a while to get used to and some drivers struggled to adapt to the PFI circuit. After the 3 heats, the grid for the final lined up with Chris on pole followed by Matt, Callum, Anson, Chris Aukett and Marc Lee as your top 6. At the green light the karts accelerated down towards the almost flat out turn 1 and streamed into the tricky hairpin. There was a lot of jostling for position with karts going 4 wide into the hairpin, but it was the pole sitter Chris Hackworth who emerged as the race leader as they raced round the first lap. Matt Brooks gamely tried to stay with the leader but gradually slipped back as he didn't quite have the pace to stay with Hackworth. Behind these two, Aukett, Williams, Souter and Marc Lee were all slugging it out for the final podium place with any of them in with a shout of 3rd even down to the final few meters.
At the flag it was Chris Aukett who grabbed 3rd on the road but as he's a Daytona employee, he had to relinquish his hard fought podium to Callum Souter who adapted really well to the new circuit and drove a great race. Up front, Chris Hackworth had his head down for the whole race and finished well clear of an equally determined Matt Brooks. Anson Williams had a cracking drive and finished 5th on the road.
Congratulations to all the drivers!

Round 4 - Lydd - 16th May 2010
Despite the weather turning as the day wore on - a stiff breeze and constant rain spots blighted the afternoon - the on track action never let up. Heat wins were shared equally between Chris Hackworth, Marc Lee and Ivan Taranov, but it was the series leader Hackworth who lined up on pole just in front of Marc Lee.
As is usual, Chris shot off into the lead while Marc Lee, Paul Cox, Ivan Taranov and James Pratt all battled for the runner up position. With his head down and clear track in front, Chris was not going to be caught but the battle for 2nd raged until the halfway point of the 14 lap final. A clash between Marc and Paul put paid to their chances while an innocent James Pratt got caught up too and was terribly unlucky to see his fine race spoilt. Ivan showed his speed and was right in the mix until he hit one of the kerbs too hard and knocked the engine mount off and threw the chain. Keeping their noses clean while keeping their speed up were Dwayne Marsden and Callum Souter who avoided trouble and finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Anson Williams was 4th, Ben Leslie 5th and James Pratt recovered to 6th place.

Round 6 - Milton Keynes
18 eager lightweight drivers lined up for round 6 of the sprint series. Heat wins went to Rajiv Seneviratne, Chris Hackworth and Ben Leslie. The grid for the final had Chris on pole, Rajiv on 2, Ben Comerford on 3, Matthew Fallon on 4, Bruce Tattersall on 5 and Ivan Taranov in 6th.
At the start of the 12 lap final, Chris immediately took the lead but was tailed by Rajiv and Ben. Behind these 3 drivers it was all kicking off with a train of 10 karts all jostling for position and fighting hard. The big winner on the first lap was James Pratt who had some terrible heats to start in a lowly 14th place. At the end of lap 1 he was up to 8th and kept picking off kart after kart. James’ pace was superb and by about lap 7 he was in 4th place and chasing down the leaders. At the front, Chris was pushed extremely hard by both Ben and Rajiv who both took turns in attacking the series leader. At the flag though, Chris had just enough in the bag to take the win from Ben and Rajiv. James Pratt recovered superbly to 4th and the top 11 karts all went under 1.05 for the first time.

Vodafone DMAX Championship Round 7 – Whilton Mill – August 15th 2010
Heat wins for James Pratt, Callum Souter and Chris Hackworth saw these three along with Antonio Carrozza locking out the top 2 rows with Hackworth earning pole from Pratt and Souter. As per usual, Chris Hackworth sprinted off into the lead tailed by Matthew and there was no quarter neither asked nor given between these two super fast drivers all the way through the race. They pulled a couple of seconds from James Pratt who kept a watching brief in case the two protagonists came off. Behind the top 3, Antonio Carrozza couldn’t quite match the pace of the leaders with Ivan Taranov, Ben Leslie and Ben Comerford making up the top 7. Back with the leaders, Matthew put a pass on Chris for the lead and Hackworth tried everything to get back to the top but missed out at the flag by just 25/100ths. It really was a cracking scrap and fantastic to watch.
