Daytona Max Winter Series Sprint Heavyweight Rd 3

17th January 2009 – Daytona Max Winter Series Sprint Heavyweights Rd 3

Once again the heavyweight races were packed full of action and controversy. They always put on a great show and the racing was as close as ever.

Vinod Hirani had the best of the heats and put his kart on pole position for the final closely followed by the 3 championship protagonists Jamie Osbourne, Chris Carter and Brian Parias. Knowing that he didn’t quite have the pace of the 3 guys behind him, Vinod hung onto the top spot as long as possible before eventually having to yield to Brian, Chris, Jamie and Charles Graham. Brian battled his way up to 1st place and Chris tried vainly to hang onto the back bumper of Brian’s kart. Behind these two a monumental battle between Jamie and Charles ensued with Jaime keeping his concentration brilliantly and holding off the challenge of the Daytona CEO.

At the flag it was Brian Parias who took the win from Chris Cater and Jamie Osbourne. These 3 have been on the podium in each of the rounds and Brian took an unprecedented 3 out of 3 for the title.

The final positions are as follows:

1st – Brian Parias
2nd – Chris Carter
3rd – Jamie Osbourne
4th – Railer Cantrell
5th – Michael Ballinger
6th – Peter Heintzelman
7th – Ian Collins
8th – Vinod Hirani
9th – James Nesbitt
10th – Paul Ugo
11th – Henry Janz

A number of drivers were not eligible to score points and do not appear in the above results.
