Daytona Max Winter Series Sprint Heavyweights Rd2
6th December 2008 – Daytona Max Heavyweight Sprint Winter Series Rd 2
The heavy’s sure know how to put on a ding-dong battle and some very ‘robust’ driving throughout the heats showed again how competitive this class is. The ‘no-bumping’ board almost got worn out however the fierce battles were generally hard but fair.
Brian Parias once again showed the field how it’s done with a lights to flag victory for the second successive race. Behind him, Jaime Osbourne and Chris Carter completed the podium with the latter coming through the grid after a non finish in heat 1. Michael Ballinger, Railer Cantrell and Edward Briggs rounded out the top 6 finishers. Although the final wasn’t quite as close as Round 1, the sheer determination and will to win of all the drivers, especially during the heats was very exciting and with the top 3 all in with a chance of the title, round 3 will be un-missable.
The final finishing positions are as follows:
1st – Brian Parias
2nd – Jaime Osbourne
3rd – Chris Carter
4th – Michael Ballinger
5th – Railer Cantrell
6th – Edward Briggs
7th – Richard Matthews
8th – Graham Higgs
9th – Graeme MacDonald
10th – Vinod Hirani
11th – Dan Sharpe
12th – Peter Heintzelman
