Endurance Karting Series
The Daytona Max Endurance Championships are designed for the individual driver who wants the ultimate endurance challenge.
A choice of two classes is available for 2010.
THE CLASSES:
Lightweight
Designed for drivers up to 77.5kg with all their race gear.
Heavyweight
Designed for drivers up to 87.5kg with all their race gear.
Overview
The ultimate test of endurance and stamina: Drivers will compete in a 20 minute timed qualifying session followed by a 1 hour non-stop fight to the flag.
Kart Allocation
The karts are warmed up and track tested by Daytona drivers. Once the karts are returned to the pits, each driver is randomly allocated to a kart in the line.
Qualifying Practice
Qualifying practice is 20 minutes and your fastest lap time during the session will count as your qualification position. If a driver is unhappy with any aspect of the allocated karts performance, they are able to swap karts during the qualifying session providing a Daytona engineer is happy that there is a fault. Once the session has ended, no more kart replacements will be available.
The Race
Once the green flag has dropped, it’s a non-stop, 1 hour test of your endurance and skill. The karts will run the entire qualifying and race on one tank of fuel so your only strategy decisions are based on the drivers around you. It takes supreme concentration to keep up a fast pace over an entire 60 minutes and only the best will take the chequered flag first. Do you have what it takes?
